Tupelo Man Arrested, Charged with Firearm Possession

On October 15, 2024, Tupelo Police Department officers arrested a man for possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon.

Jevonte R. Ashby, age thirty one, was arrested Tuesday by officers with Tupelo Police Department on a Lee County Circuit Court Capias Warrant. The warrant was for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The warrant is in relation to an incident that occured earlier in 2024, when Ashby was involved in a car wreck. According to a press release from Tupelo Police Department, Ashby, a previously convicted felon, was found to be in possession of a firearm at that time.

Lee County Circuit Court ordered that Ashby be held without bond. His case will be presented to Lee County Circuit Court.
