Jackson Fire and Police Departments Investigate a Fire at Abandoned Hotel

A fire broke out at the abandoned Hotel O on Friday morning, and Jackson Fire Department and Jackson Police Department are investigating the cause.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at the hotel, where the fire was extinguished at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Friday, October 18th. The Hotel O is located in the 4600 Block of I-55 North.

Crews remained on site after the flames died out to monitor the area.

According to WLBT, the Hotel O has been vacant for quite some time. Earlier in October, the city of Jackson received several bids to demolish the structure, which is in a state of deterioration.
