Individually-Wrapped Sandwiches Recalled Over Listeria Concerns

Classic Delight LLC of St. Mary’s, Ohio has recalled several individually wrapped sandwiches because of potential contamination with Listeria. If you have bought this product recently, you will want to check your packages.

Products subject to the recall were shipped to Arkansas, California, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas distributors. Items were produced between May 11, 2023, and June 6, 2024.

What We Know

The recall was initiated after environmental samples tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes, according to the company’s recall notice posted by the Food and Drug Administration.

Production has been suspended while the FDA and the company investigate the source of the problem. There have been no reports of illness or adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

It is important to note that food contaminated with Listeria may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause serious and sometimes life-threatening infections. Anyone who has eaten recalled products and developed symptoms of Listeria infection should seek medical treatment and tell their doctors about possible Listeria exposure.

Symptoms can take up to 70 days after exposure to develop. Those symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness.

Pregnant women, the elderly, young children, and people who have weakened immune systems are at greater risk of serious illnesses and even death.
