Michigan man wanted after drugs found in vehicle during Boone County traffic stop
BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Michigan man after a large amount of drugs were found in a vehicle in West Virginia, troopers said. Anthony D. Chandler, of Warren, Mich., is wanted after troopers said they found 310 grams of methamphetamine and about 54 grams of fentanyl in a vehicle belonging to him on Monday, according to a news release from West Virginia State Police.
Heat wave set to break
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Tuesday’s late day high temperatures made the mid- to upper 90s across the region including at the Lawrence County fairgrounds in Proctorville. Credible reports over 100 degrees were received from many coalfield towns with Logan leading the way. Afternoon highs at the 84 Lumber Yard and Addison Addition in Logan confirmed the triple-digit heat.
WV 3 shut down following crash
LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A crash in West Hamlin has closed a portion of WV 3 near 9184 Straight Fork Road. The northbound road and southbound road is closed. Officials do not believe any injuries have been reported. Keep checking the WSAZ app for the latest information.
WVDOH crews repair slab of concrete damaged from excessive heat in Kanawha County
JULIAN, W.Va. — The West Virginia Department of Highways was tasked with repairing a concrete slab that buckled upwards due to heat on Wednesday. The section of concrete, located on US Route 119 near Julian in Kanawha County, was temporarily fixed overnight Tuesday night before WVDOH crews fixed the issue permanently on Wednesday.

DUNLOW, W.Va. -- The WVU Wayne County Extension Service said it saw its biggest turnout since before the COVID-19 pandemic at its 4-H Overnight Camp last month.
