Huskers to host St. Louis athlete at the end of the month
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will host a class of 2026 athlete on campus next month. Keenan Harris is scheduled to visit the Lincoln campus the weekend of July 26-28. Harris is a four-star prospect for Saint Louis University High in St. Louis, MO. Last season, he appeared in ten games, recording 95 total tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sack. He holds two dozen offers, including from Arkansas, Auburn, and Illinois. For 2026, the athlete is ranked the No. 4 player in the state of Missouri and the No. 104 overall prospect. Nebraska currently holds no commitments to its class of 2026 but has made a flurry of offers in recent weeks. The Nebraska women’s tennis team continues to build its roster with the addition of sophomore transfers Yuzu Miyoshi and Tiziana Rossini for the 2024-25 season. Miyoshi competed at No. 1 singles and doubles as a freshman at Sophia University in Japan and was named the 2022 player of the year. From Kawasaki, Kagawa, Japan, Miyoshi joins the Big Red with three years of eligibility remaining. Kansas defensive end to visit Nebraska on July 27
A defensive end from Kansas has scheduled a visit with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Hunter Higgins will visit the Lincoln campus on July 27. His visit will come just days after his July 25 visit to the Oklahoma Sooners. The three-star prospect plays for Maize South High School in Wichita, Kansas. National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming had high praise for Higgins last December. He wrote, (Higgins) should be become a national recruit. Excellent length, quick hands and feet and shows explosive moves to the ball. Tenacious and tough. Terrific attitude. 3.9 GPA. The recruit has been a popular player recently. Atlas Theatre receives DDA grant to infill purposeless windows
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Historic Atlas Theatre has received a grant to remove windows that “no longer serve a purpose.”. On Thursday, the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority approved a Capital Improvement Grant for the Friends of the Atlas Board at its regular monthly meeting. The theater board requested a 50% match from the DDA for masonry work on the Atlas Theatre’s south side, according to a DDA staff report. The total cost of repairs is $8,800. The development authority awarded the Atlas board $4,400.

Investigators uncover 17 guns in drug raids in Kearney and Funk
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Two drug task forces carried out raids in two central Nebraska towns Thursday morning in a regional narcotics investigation. The Nebraska State Patrol said a SWAT team and the TRIDENT drug task force raided a house near 8th Avenue and Highway 30 in Kearney. They recovered 12 firearms, approximately 11 pounds of marijuana, 1 gram of cocaine, 4 pounds of THC wax concentrate, and 4 dozen psilocybin mushroom candy bars.
Sodbusters battle back from 4-run deficit to beat Moo
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings Sodbusters hosted their second home game of their current series with the Fremont Moo on Wednesday.
