Three Acadiana men have been sentenced in federal court for their roles in a kidnapping scheme that reached from Los Angeles to Louisiana. Cody Lajohn Williams, 31, of Breaux Bridge; Drapper Lavar Anthony Jr., 27, of Youngsville; and Joseph Lawrence Harrison, 27, of St. Martinville, were identified as members of the ATM Gang during a multi-agency press conference Friday at the federal courthouse in Lafayette.
Mechanical contractor invests $3.5 million to build new manufacturing facility in Louisiana
Process Service Specialists (PSS) has announced plans to open a manufacturing plant at the Port of Lake Charles in Louisiana. The industrial mechanical contractor will invest $3.5 million into the project, creating 160 new jobs for the surrounding area. According to the company, the new plant will provide steel, piping and comprehensive services to its commercial and industrial customers. PSS serves a range of industries, including welding, piping, shop fabrication, water treatment and food and beverage manufacturing. Construction on the facility has already begun, and operations are expected to begin later this year. To help support the project, PSS received a $750,000 performance-based award from the state’s Economic Development Award Program, as well as other incentives. Additionally, the company is anticipated to participate in Louisiana’s Industrial Tax Exemption and Quality Jobs programs.
