MOBILE, Ala. ( W K RG ) — Officers with the Mobile Police Department arrested a man Thursday morning after he allegedly burglarized a family member’s home before pointing a gun at the person.

An MPD news release said officers were called to the 800 block of Summerville Street for a report of a burglary on July 24 around 6:15 p.m.

Officers arrived at the home and found that a man had returned and found that the home had been burglarized, according to the release.

The release said officers heard that a family member, now identified as 27-year-old Jerpaul Lavon James, broke into the home and, at one point, held a gun toward the victim’s head.

James was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree burglary and second-degree possession of marijuana.
