Authorities are still looking for a man accused of murdering another man in Mocksville just before midnight on Friday.

Danny Earl Carter, 32, 5-9 tall and 140 lbs., is wanted for murder. Davie Sheriff J.D. Hartman said the suspect is no longer believed to be in this area.

Deputies were dispatched to a stabbing call at a residence on Gwyn Street in Mocksville at 11:56 p.m. June 21.

The victim – Mark Randall Dukes, 62, of the residence – was dead on the scene from multiple stab wounds, Hartman said.

The suspect, who has a tattoo on his left neck, left the scene on foot.

“Carter and Dukes are known to each other and were possibly involved in a disturbance at the time of the stabbing,” Hartman said.

Carter, last seen wearing a bandana on his head, should be considered armed and dangerous, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 336-751-6238, email at Sheriff@dcsonc.com, or leave an anonymous tip at https://davie-so-nc.zuercherportal.com/#/submit_tip .
