    Grammy-winning singer bringing his hits to Modesto-region amphitheater. Who and where

    Longtime hit-maker Brad Paisley will take his music to the Mother Lode. There will be more country playing at the Fruit Yard Amphitheatre, courtesy of the group Midland. These just two of entertainment options set for July 20-26 in the greater Modesto region.

    Country superstar Brad Paisley will play his hits at the Ironstone Amphitheatre in Murphys. The Grammy Award winner has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001. “Paisley has written 21 of his 25 No. 1 hits, and in 2008 became the first artist to achieve 10 consecutive Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 singles,” according to the Ironstone website. He will be joined at the concert by guest Dawes.

    Midland

    Country group Mildland brings its hits to the Fruit Yard Amphitheater. The band is known for songs including “Drinkin’ Problem,” “Burn Out,” “Cheatin’ Songs,” “Old Fashioned Feeling” and “Longneck Way To Go.” The group will be joined by guest Zandi Holup.

    Comedy competition

    “American Laughiti: Modesto’s Annual Comedy Competition” returns to the State Theatre. The top six comedians will perform live for a $2,000 grand prize and a $1,000 audience choice award. The show may contain material not suitable for all ages.

    Carnegie Art Showcase

    There are 88 works on display in the annual Carnegie Art Showcase exhibition at the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock. The juried exhibit is on view in the center’s Ferrari Gallery. Works in all media were submitted by artists from Northern and Central California.
