Utah man dies in rafting accident in Dinosaur National Monument
The body of a 50-year-old man from Sandy, Utah has been recovered after a rafting accident during a private permitted trip on the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument. According to a news release from the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, at or around 4 p.m. on Thursday, monument staff were notified that a boat was pinned on a rock in the rapid named Hells Half Mile. One person from the group was missing and suspected to be pinned under the raft. The group was eventually able to unpin and secure the boat, but the person, now dislodged, was unresponsive and having lost his lifejacket, drifted downriver.

A Settlement Agreement has been reached for a long-time partnership between Tri-State Generation and Transmission, with Moffat County and the City of Craig. One part of the settlement is that the communities will receive $22 million dollars, as a direct benefit for the Community Economic Development Trust Fund.
