Suspect Nabbed After Daring Colorado River Escape Attempt in Tri-State High-Speed Chase
A suspect's attempted aquatic escape came to a soggy end last week after a high-speed chase concluded with a plunge into the Colorado River. Thomas Raymond Morgan, 35, was arrested following a pursuit that involved multiple law enforcement agencies. Morgan now faces several charges, including unlawful flight from law enforcement, with an additional assortment of charges pending as the investigation continues.
Double-decade prison term for firing at first responders
KINGMAN – A defense attorney who requested probation instead saw his Kingman client receive a near double-decade prison term during a June 28 sentencing hearing. The 17.5-year prison term imposed by Judge Doug Camacho was the maximum under terms of a plea agreement convicting 67-year-old Steven Willard of two counts of aggravated assault.

PHOENIX - Above-normal temperatures will continue in the Valley on Tuesday before things really heat up later this week. The high on Tuesday will be around 110°F. However, the National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch for a large portion of Maricopa County, beginning on the 4th of July. The warning lasts through July 9.

Preliminary permit application for proposed pumped storage project at Red Lake approved by Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
KINGMAN — A preliminary permit application for a proposed pumped storage project at Red Lake has been accepted by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The proposed project is a 3,000 megawatt closed-loop pumped storage plant located 35 miles northeast of Kingman at the dry lakebed known as Red Lake on federal land managed by Bureau of Land Management in Mohave County.
