New MCSO substation open in Mohave Valley
MOHAVE VALLEY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has announced that their new substation in the Fort Mohave / Mohave Valley area is fully operational. All official business shall now be handled out of the new location at 6870 S. Highway 95. A Grand Opening Ceremony will be announced at a later date for the public to tour the new substation.

Grace Hecht Declines to Re-Schedule Debate
A debate for Mohave County District 2 the was originally scheduled for June 22nd was postponed after candidate Grace Hecht said she had a scheduling conflict. After over a week of delay we reached out to the school district administrator Michelle Bemelman to get an update on when the debate would be re-scheduled to. “After speaking with Grace Hecht with new dates for a re-schedule she told me that none of the dates would work for her”, Michelle said. It looks like the debate will not occur unless only two of the candidates Rich Lettman and William McClure are interested in scheduling it without all of the running candidates.
Arizona Electric Power Cooperative Granted Meeting Postponement to Discuss Proposed Mohave Valley Facility
MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (June 24, 2024) – Arizona Electric Power Cooperative (AEPCO) has requested that their applications for an amendment to the Mohave County General Plan be postponed. The issue involves the company’s application going from a Suburban Residential Area land use designation to an Urban Development Area land use designation and a Rezone from an A-R (Agricultural Residential) zone to an M-X (Heavy Manufacturing) zone for a portion of Assessor’s Parcel No. 225-09-052. It would allow for a natural gas-powered electric generation facility in the Mohave Valley vicinity. The postponement moves the item from the July 1, 2024, Board of Supervisors meeting to the August 19, 2024 Board of Supervisors meeting.
