Molalla Farmers Market keeps rolling every Thursday

MOLALLA: The Molalla Farmers Market is held every Thursday through the end of September from 3 to 7 p.m. at 180 Industrial Way in Molalla.

The weekly market will feature local produce, crafts, food, and more.

Canby’s Farmers Market is up and running Saturdays

CANBY: The Canby Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Canby on N. Holly Street between NW 2nd and 4th avenues.

The market will run into October with produce from local farmers, hand crafters, food artisans and plenty of other vendors.

Woodburn Meals on Wheels program seeks volunteers

WOODBURN: The Northwest Senior and Disability Services is accepting volunteers for its Woodburn-based Meals on Wheels program.

Volunteers serve nutritious food to the community’s older citizens. It’s an opportunity to help the community, connect with others and be a friendly, familiar face.

Aurora music scene ready to roll with series

AURORA: Aurora’s annual free community concerts will run Wednesdays through Aug. 10, which will be held Saturday as part of Aurora Colony Days.

The shows are held at the Aurora City Park amphitheater from 7 to 9 p.m. The concerts are free and open to the public rain or shine. Food and beverage vendors will be on hand.

July 10 – Park Road.

July 17 – Timothy James Band.

July 24 – 21 Turns.

July 31 – Bootleg Ridge.

Aug. 10 – Slicker Country Band (Saturday).

Teen programs abound in Molalla during July

MOLALLA: The Molalla Public Library will offer a trio of teen programs in July. The programs will be on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and include watercolor painting (July 10 – may be at 1 p.m.), things that melt (July 17), and teen makerspace 2 (July 24).

The program is for ages 10-18.

Colony Museum slates ‘biergarten’ presentation event

AURORA: The Aurora Colony Museum will host a mini biergarten on Thursday, July 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for an evening presentation with speaker David G. Lewis. He will discuss his new book, “Tribal Histories of the Willamette Valley,” in the courtyard of the museum.

Magician coming to Canby’s Wait Park on July 11

CANBY: Magician Seth Howard will be at Canby’s Wait Park on Thursday, July 11, to work his wonders from 3 to 4 p.m. as part of Canby Public Library programming.

Howard was fascinated by the art of magic from a young age. Today, he is a highly sought-after performer known for his creativity, skill and showmanship.

Woodburn cheerleaders plan bake sale fundraising event

WOODBURN: The Woodburn High School cheerleading team will hold its annual fundraising bake sale on Friday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Long Bros. Building Supply, 195 Birds Eye Ave., Woodburn.

The team anticipates preparing tasty treats, and the sale is by cash donation only; there are no set sale prices. Donations will help build the program for the upcoming athletic season.

Aurora slates living history activities during open day

AURORA: The Aurora Colony Village will open on July 13 for a living history day. Craft and history will be alive and well for visitors to see, with blacksmiths, spinners, and weavers coming to live and work in the historic buildings at the Aurora Colony Museum.

Canby ready to serve up ‘Slice’ of musical fun

CANBY: This year’s Slice of Summer music series will feature four Sunday shows at the gazebo in Canby’s Wait Park. The shows will begin at 6 p.m. and feature a diverse selection of music.

Performing this year will be:

July 14 – Willamette Valley Big Band.

July 28 – Elia Howard & the Greater Good.

Aug. 11 – Bridgetown Get Down.

Aug. 25 – The Band of Jesse James.

Food and beverage vendors will be on hand. Attendees should bring their own chairs or a blanket as there is no seating at the park.

Molalla Music in the Park continues every Tuesday night

MOLALLA: Tuesday evening air will be filled with the sound of music coming from Molalla’s Fox Park in 2024.

The Molalla Public Library returns with another edition of its Music in the Park program for the coming summer. The action runs every Tuesday through July 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The Friends of the Molalla Library will be selling beverages and Parks CPC will sell snacks.

This summer’s shows will include:

July 23 – Mark Seymour & Friends.

Adults have painting opportunity with library event

CANBY: The Canby Public Library will hold an Adult Art Café on Tuesday, July 16, from 5 to 6:45 p.m. in the library’s Willamette Room.

Dive into an ocean of hands-on science fun while exploring Oregon’s underwater environments with this interactive program form the Museum of Natural and Cultural History.

Tribute band festival adds third day of music

CANBY: Harefest, “The Mother of All Tribute Festivals” will return with an extra day added. This year’s event will run Thursday-Saturday, July 18-20 at the fairgrounds in Canby.

The event features camping spots available and three days, three stages, and 27 bands assuming the style and musical tributes to classic bands such as Journey, CCR, Alabama, STYX, Scorpions, and more.

The event brings skilled volunteers and people with broken items together. The event is for small home appliances, small electronics, and clean clothes and textiles

Molalla Parks plans fundraising garage sale for play structure

MOLALLA: The Molalla Parks CPC garage sale will be held July 25-27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 321 Chinook St. The group is now accepting gently used donations. To do so, contact Jody Newland at jnweland@cityofmolalla.com.

CANBY: The Canby High School class of 2004 is planning its 20th class reunion with a “save the date” announcement for the Saturday, July 27, event at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm.

Canby Fire slates its first-ever MDA golf tourney

CANBY: The inaugural Canby Fire MDA Golf Tournament will be held Wednesday, July 31, at Frontier Golf Course in Canby.

Entry to the nine-hole scramble is $100 per person or $350 for a team of four. Fees include greens fees, event t-shirt and catered barbecue lunch. Deadline to enter is June 30. Pick up an entry form or information on sponsorships at the chamber office.

Colony Days serving up two days of fun

AURORA: Aurora Colony Days returns Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9-10. Aug. 9 will feature a biergarten from 4:30 to 10 p.m. with the music of Mark Seymour and Friends, beginning at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, a pancake breakfast kicks things off at the American Legion Hall, followed by a fun run, the Market in the Park and the Outdoor Antiques Market downtown.

Portland Timbers supporters group meets in Canby

CANBY: The local Portland Timbers support group, Timbers Army Clackamas County Frogmen, will meet at the F.O.B. Taproom in Canby cheer on the MLS team for every game this season, except those on Wednesday nights.

The game will be shown on a large pull-down screen and the fun will include snacks and patches and stickers for sale. Beverages are available on site, and food can be purchased outside of the taproom and brought in during the game. All area Timbers fans are encouraged to stop by.
