The cooldown has arrived! Nice weather this week
PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - We had a little bit of excitement this morning with the scattered thunderstorms! Maybe you heard the rumbles of thunder overnight. These isolated storms did drop small amounts of rain for us west of the Cascades (less than a tenth of an inch everywhere) and produced lightning- mostly over the ocean and Coast Range. We did get some around the Portland metro area, though! The show was over for us by midday, and now the flashes of lightning are trekking northward across central and eastern Oregon. Fingers crossed those don’t result in any new fire starts.

The Portland Trail Blazers dropped their final regularly-scheduled game in the 2024 NBA Summer League on Friday evening, falling to the Charlotte Hornets 84-68. There was a slim chance for both the Blazers and Hornets to make the “coveted” Summer League Playoffs, so it was interesting to see how each team came out to play.
Down to the river, an unexplained fence
There was still a section of concert fencing across a new path in Monteith Riverpark Friday. It didn’t necessarily keep people from getting to the riverbank, but why keep a fence there at all?. Like others before me, I walked around the fencing Friday because I wanted to see...
