    Tuesday night music series gets ready to wrap up

    WOODBURN: Music in the Park comes to a finish on Tuesday, Aug. 13 when Schwing hits the stage. The action runs 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Woodburn Public Library, 280 Garfield St.

    There will be activities for children, as well as food vendors to enjoy

    Clackamas County Fair back for another run in Canby

    CANBY: The Clackamas County Fair will run through Aug. 17 at the fairgrounds in Canby. As always, the Canby Rodeo will be part of the action.

    The fair will feature music, art, food, entertainment, animals and plenty of unique and exciting things to see and do.

    Dahlias in full flower during annual Canby festival

    CANBY: The annual Swan Island Dahlia Festival will run Wednesday through Sunday (and Labor Day) through September in Canby.

    The festival is from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day and will offer nearly 40 acres and 370 varieties of colorful dahlias to explore. The festival also offers live music, a Sunday farmer’s market, classes, food and more.

    LEGO legend set to offer thoughts at library event

    CANBY: Hear from LEGO Master contestant Kelly Bartlett about what life is like on a reality show. From casting to filming to on-air viewing, Bartlett will talk about her experience on LEGO Masters, lessons she learned and life after the show as a professional LEGO builder.

    Fiesta Mexicana ready for 60th anniversary outing

    WOODBURN: It’s the 60th anniversary of the Woodburn Fiesta Mexicana, from noon to 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18, at Legion Park, 1385 Park Ave., Woodburn.

    The event features more than 60 vendors, a soccer tournament, a parade, Lucha Libre, Loteria, live music and a tremendous amount of authentic cuisine options.

    It’s free all day Friday, free Saturday and Sunday until 5 p.m., and after 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, it’s a $5 entry fee for ages 10 and older. Saturday features a morning parade from downtown through Legion Park.

    Summer Finally Got Here concert, car show on tap

    COLTON: The annual Summer Finally Got Here concert and classic car show will be held Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Aspen Meadow Amphitheater, 24323 S. Upper Highland Road in Colton.

    Enjoy classic cars, food, beverages, and the Aspen Meadows Band delivering music from days gone by. Admission is free to the concert and car show.

    Woodburn Chamber sets Aug. 22 for golf tournament

    WOODBURN: The Woodburn Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at OGA Golf Course. Registration starts at 7 a.m., with a shot gun start at 8:30 a.m.

    Cost is $400 for a team of four.

    Celebrate Molalla in new location, more great fun

    MOLALLA: This year’s Celebrate Molalla will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at a new location – Clark Park, 729 Shirley St.

    There will be free kids crafts and activities, artists, artisans, antiques, a food court, multiple types of beverages, music and more.

    Additionally, the Parks CPC will be selling its newly-designed t-shirts and sweatshirts.

    Canby has only one ‘Slice’ of musical fun left

    CANBY: This year’s Slice of Summer music series concludes Sunday, Aug. 25, at the gazebo in Canby’s Wait Park. The shows will begin at 6 p.m. and feature a diverse selection of music.

    The Band of Jesse James will be performing at this show.

    Food and beverage vendors will be on hand. Attendees should bring their own chairs or a blanket as there is no seating in the park.

    Canby High class of 1974 organizing a 50th class reunion

    CANBY: The Canby High School class of 1974 will have its 50th class reunion on Sunday, Sept. 8, at Merrywood Farms in Carus.

    Teresa (McNamee) Meyers is organizing the event and is looking for help and to connect with classmates from 1974.

    The reunion will begin about 3 p.m. at the farm.

    Big Night Out celebration ready to bid summer adieu

    CANBY: Canby’s Big Night Out will be held Friday, Aug. 23, in downtown Canby. The event will feature live music with Return Flight from 6 to 8 p.m. and then Nate Botsford from 8 to 11 p.m., as well as local food and beverage merchants, free children’s activities with a game truck, bouncy houses and more.

    The event run 6 to 11 p.m. and offers a chance to tell summer goodbye.

    Cruise in ready for 30th year in downtown Canby

    CANBY: The 30th Annual Cutsforth’s Cruise In will once again welcome hundreds of classic cars to the downtown streets of Canby on Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Admission is free, the KISN Good Guys will be on hand for classic tunes, the Rotary Big Burger BBQ will be on hand, as well as food carts, pie and ice cream.

    Annual Watermelon Festival ready to roll in September

    MOLALLA: The 4th annual Watermelon Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Willamette Valley Melon Company, 32300 S. Dryland Road in Molalla.

    Oktoberfest ready for annual return to Mount Angel

    MOUNT. ANGEL: The annual Oktoberfest event, billed as one the largest folk festivals in the Northwest, takes place from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12; 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13-14; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15.

    Celtic Festival set for fairgrounds in Canby

    Tabletop gaming fun is not going on at the library

    CANBY: The Canby Public Library is holding a tabletop gaming event the second and fourth Saturday of each month running from noon to 4 p.m.

    Gaming is located in the Teen Room and is for ages 13-18 to explore some new tabletop game options.

    Canby’s Farmers Market is up and running Saturdays

    CANBY: The Canby Farmers Market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Canby on N. Holly Street between NW 2nd and 4th avenues.

    D&D campaign looking for players at Canby Library

    CANBY: A Dungeons and Dragons campaign for teens ages 13-18 will be the first and third Saturday at the Canby Public Library.

    Portland Timbers supporters group meets in Canby

    CANBY: The local Portland Timbers support group, Timbers Army Clackamas County Frogmen, will meet at the F.O.B. Taproom in Canby cheer on the MLS team for every game this season, except those on Wednesday nights.

    The game will be shown on a large pull-down screen and the fun will include snacks and patches and stickers for sale. Beverages are available on site, and food can be purchased outside of the taproom and brought in during the game. All area Timbers fans are encouraged to stop by.

    Woodburn Meals on Wheels program seeks volunteers

    WOODBURN: The Northwest Senior and Disability Services is accepting volunteers for its Woodburn-based Meals on Wheels program.

    Volunteers serve nutritious food to the community’s older citizens. It’s an opportunity to help the community, connect with others and be a friendly, familiar face.
