And just like that, the Nov. 5 General Election is coming more and more into focus. While the Democratic and Republican conventions produced little of consequence that wasn’t already clear to everyone, local elections will offer plenty of opportunity for surprises.

Within Molalla there are a host of city council seats, as well as the mayoral position, up for election this year.

Here's who will be seeking your votes this November.

    Molalla

Mayor Scott Keyser and councilors Jody Newland, Eric Vermillion, and recently-appointed Darci Lightner all have their seats up for re-election.

Keyser will be challenged for the mayor’s chair by Jennifer Satter and Amy Williams.

For the council seats, it appears that Newland has elected not to run for re-election, while Lightner and Vermillion are back for another go-around. Challenging them will be Doug Gilmer, Martin Bartholomew, and Thomas Luttrell.

The top three vote-getters in November will win the council seats.

Deadline to submit paperwork to run for the council was Aug. 20.

Clackamas County Elections said that ballots form the Nov. 5 General Election will begin being mailed on Oct. 16. Voter registration deadline is Oct. 15. Ballots must be mailed with a valid postmark or returned to an official ballot drop site before 8 p.m. on Nov. 5.
