    Molalla cross country secures pair of top-five team finishes at Ultimook Race

    Molalla cross country had a stellar day of racing on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Ultimook Race at The Hydrangea Ranch, as both teams secured top-five finishes in the Class 1A-4A divisions.

    The boys totaled 166 points, sitting fifth out of 31 teams. Sophomore Nick Wood led the way, clocking in at 17 minutes, 21.70 seconds to finish 10th overall. Junior Otto Terry finished 27th in 18:47.37, followed by senior Jecel Cortes at 34th in 19:13.92. Sophomore Isaac Marshal crossed in 19:16.03, finishing 36th, while senior Dutch Patterson finished 75th in 20:16.62.

    Sophomore Tyler Kenton and junior Jack Line rounded out the group at 111th and 166th, respectively, registering times of 21:07.16 and 22:55.55.

    Meanwhile, the girls team scored 147 points, finishing fifth out of 16 teams. Junior Anika Jenson posted the fastest time, finishing third overall in 19:58.69. Her twin Annalyse Jenson didn't trail too far behind, crossing eighth in 20:30.60, while junior Madison Clark ran 22:49.41 to finish 30th. Freshmen Mackenzie Ball and Keira Clark finished 86th and 87th, respectively, clocking in at 26:27.38 and 26:28.18. Freshman Aubrey Hodgson rounded out the team at 98th in 27:20.70.
