    Molalla cross country competes at Grant Robison Invitational

    Molalla cross country continued its season at the Grant Robison Invitational on Thursday, Oct. 3, at Joe Dancer Park in McMinnville. The boys team finished ninth out of 18 teams, totaling 193 points, while the girls team finished eighth out of 13 teams, scoring 187 points.

    Sophomore Nick Wood led the boys, finishing 24th overall out of 121 runners, clocking in at 17 minutes, 19.35 seconds. Junior Otto Terry crossed 27th in 17:29.28, while senior Jecel Cortes ran 18:10.08 to finish 35th.

    Senior John Hayes followed, finishing 49th in 18:42.23, with sophomore Jake Kenton crossing 60th in 18:52.80. Tyler Kenton, who registered a new personal best, and Isaac Marshal rounded out the group, placing 85th and 88th, respectively, in 19:48.58 and 19:58.09.

    Junior Anika Jenson led the girls with a third-place finish in the 92-person field, clocking in at 19:35.10. Junior Annalyse Jenson crossed eighth in 20:34.44, while junior Madison Clark ran 24:03.20 to finish 52nd.

    Junior Naomi Peterson followed, finishing 68th in 25:19.17, with junior Jacqueline Hernandez Osio crossing 73rd in 25:37.74. Freshmen Keira Clark and Mackenzie Ball rounded out the group, finishing 80th and 86th, respectively, in 26:29.28 and 27:45.19.

    Molalla's next race will be the 4th Annual Rose City Championship Invite on Friday, Oct. 11, at Rose City Golf Course in Portland.
