Overton Beach Park to close for season on Aug 1

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – A lakeside beach located near Moncks Corner is set to close for the season.

Overton Beach Park, which sits on the banks of Lake Moultrie, will close to guests on Thursday, August 1 ^st .

The beach typically opens for the season over Memorial Day weekend and offers people in Berkeley County an option for swimming, tanning, and gathering with friends and family without having to drive to the coast.

Overton Beach is one of two public parks managed by Santee Cooper.
