Emergency funding for Bartlett House approved for month of June
MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - Emergency funding for the Bartlett House in Monongalia County has been approved in order to keep the organization active through the month of June. The Monongalia County Commission and the Morgantown City Council will both make one-time payments of $17,500 to the Bartlett House, officials said. This will cover payroll for employees through the end of June.

UHS alum makes $1 million commitment to Sports Complex at UHS
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A graduate of University High School has pledged to donate up to $1 million towards the funding of a new baseball and softball complex. Nancy Pride Raley, the sister of UHS Athletic Hall of Famer Ronald “Duke” Pride, has agreed to donate $750,000 towards the construction of the approximately $4 million project. The donation also includes a separate $250,000 donation that will be used at a later date to help support building state-of-the-art baseball and softball fields with modern amenities not seen in other high schools in Monongalia County.
How to stay safe while riding ATVs this summer
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - All-terrain vehicles, or ATVs, can make for fun times. However, the vehicles can also be dangerous if the proper safety precautions are not taken. In just the first 10 days of June, there have been at least two separate ATV-involved accidents in North Central West Virginia. In Harrison County, a rider was flown to the hospital after a rollover accident on June 4th, and on June 10th, an ATV driver was killed in Monongalia County following an accident.
