County, city approve emergency Bartlett House funding
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –Commissioners in Monongalia County approved a one-time payment to ensure the Bartlett House can meet payroll obligations through the month of June. Commissioners and the city of Morgantown will each allocate a one-time payment of $17,500 as a stop-gap while officials work on negotiations to bring a new operator to the facility.

Former Monongah police chief sentenced to 6 months in jail for harassment
MONONGAH, W.Va. (WDTV) - The former Monongah police chief was sentenced to six months in jail for harassing a woman in Monongalia County. Gregory Knight, 57, of Core, was arrested and charged with stalking in April 2023 after deputies said he was following a woman after she continuously asked him not to. The woman told deputies she arrived home, found Knight’s vehicle in her driveway and went to confront him at the vehicle when he came out of the woods dressed in all black, according to court documents. She also said he showed up at one of her friend’s homes and had to be forcibly removed.
