MONROE TWP. — Two separate assaults on women in Monroe Township are being investigated by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

The first incident occurred during the early morning hours of July 15 in the area of Waterloo Park, a news release said. The second incident occurred in the late-night hours of July 17 in a wooded area along Frenchcreek in the Meadowbrook Mobile Home Community.

In both incidents, the offender was a male, the release said. Investigators are trying to determine if the same offender was responsible for both incidents.

Citizens should remain aware of their surroundings and avoid being alone in dark, secluded areas, Sheriff Troy Goodnough said in the release.
