Six men who allegedly thought a 16-year-old girl wanted to meet them in a hotel room in Sweetwater were promptly arrested June 21. Monroe County Sheriff’s Detective Jason Fillyaw said his office and the Sweetwater Police held a sting operation targeting men who were thought to be trying to contact underage girls for sex. MCSO recovers Fentanyl in Mason Road bust
On Monday, June 17, officers with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence on Mason Road. Recovered from the property was approximately 24 grams of Fentanyl powder, which carries a street value in Monroe County of over $7,000. Also recovered was Buprenorphine, Alprazolam, various drug paraphernalia, and several thousand dollars in currency. Two suspects were placed under arrest and taken to the Monroe County Justice Center.
