Hard rock returns to plaza stage Thursday
The Decatur Chamber’s 2024 Summer Concert Series returns to hard rock this week as the annual series moves into the third and final month of its schedule. Thunderstruck, a tribute band playing the music of AC/DC, returns to the Madison St. Plaza stage Thursday in the first of five August concerts which will bring the ’24 series to a wrapup.

Child Recovered in Indiana After Dupage County Home Invasion
Aurora, IL – An 8-year-old child is safe after being abducted during a home invasion on Aurora’s east side, leading to the arrest of two men in Indiana. On Monday evening, Aurora Police and Firefighters responded to a home invasion report on the 2000 block of Cheshire Drive. According to the Aurora Police Department, two males forced their way into the home, injuring the homeowners, and abducted the child. The offenders were identified as the child’s father, uncle, and grandmother.

A streaker carrying an American flag recently ran across the field at a Dubois County Bombers game, and now he's been offered to play for the team. I've only ever been to one baseball game in my entire life. It was at Busch Stadium on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, when the Cardinals went up against the Cincinnati Reds. I honestly don't remember much from the game itself, because that evening just so happened to be "Star Wars Night" at the stadium. While I was busy taking pictures with cosplayers, browsing fan art, and talking about Star Wars Episode VII with my buddies, others were actually watching the game. That said, I had a great time, and it was a memorable experience.
