    Monroe man accused of robbing family member at gunpoint for PlayStation 5; arrested

    MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On June 6, 2024, officers of the Monroe Police Department were dispatched to Wilson Street in reference to an armed robbery that occurred on Orange Street. Upon arrival, officials met with the victim who claimed he met his relative, Deon Bonner, on Orange street to sell Bonner a PlayStation 5.

    Bonner allegedly told the victim that he did not have cash for the exchange. The suspect then allegedly retrieved a black pistol from his waistband and struck the victim on the forehead above his left eye.

    Bonner reportedly told the suspect, “Drop the bag or I will shoot you”, to which the victim complied. According to authorities, Bonner allegedly began counting as if he was going to shoot the firearm.

    Bonner was arrested on July 17, 2024, and faces the following charges:

    • Aggravated Second-Degree Battery
    • Armed Robbery
