Monroe woman accused of shooting victim inside residence during an argument; arrested

MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On May 1, 2024, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a Monroe woman for Attempted Second Degree Murder. Jakayla Mcgee allegedly started a physical altercation with the victim at a residence on Harvester Drive in Richwood, La.

According to officers, after the altercation, Mcgee told the victim she was going to kill her and left the residence. Approximately 10 minutes after leaving the residence, the suspect allegedly returned with a handgun.

Mcgee then approached the victim with the firearm and began to shoot the weapon inside the residence. The incident was reportedly caught on camera.

Mcgee was arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on August 1, 2024.
