    Cheers: Wine Crawl comes to downtown Monroe July 19

    MONROE — Several newly opened businesses are participating in this year's Downtown Monroe Wine Crawl . The annual event will run from 5:30-9 p.m. July 19 in downtown Monroe. Typically, 425 people attend.

    Wine Crawl is hosted by the Downtown Monroe Business Network . This year’s crawl offers 15 wine stops and four food stops.

    "It is one ticket for wine/food. The ticket gets you a souvenir wine glass, lanyard with locations, 15 wine samples and four food samples," Paula Stanifer, event coordinator for the Downtown Monroe Business Network, said.

    Wine stops

    New wine stops this year are: Triple P Boutique, Barn Owl and Alexander Studios.

    Returning wine stops are: Michigan Wine and Beer Portal, Public House, Book Nook, Frenchie's Fine Jewelry and Coins, 129 Lounge, Amaya's Fresh Mexican Grill, Martin's Shoe House, Durocher's TV & Appliances, Jack's Bicycle, Hotel Sterling, Scally-Waggs Pet Bakery and Mindful Movement.

    Michigan wines will be served.

    Food stops

    Food stops are: Monroe County Labor Museum and new businesses Delirium Moon, Hungry Howie's and Icing Bakeshop.

    Live music

    Celestial Blues, Floral City Harmonizers and Tony and Michele Marchese will provide live music at Wine Crawl.

    Get tickets

    Tickets are still available in advance at Frenchie's Fine Jewelry, Coins and Stamps, Inc., 15 E. Front St. Tickets are $30. Cash only is accepted.

    Tickets will not be sold the night of Wine Crawl.

    Held since 2013, the Downtown Monroe Wine Crawl has grown each year.

    “The first year we sold 100 tickets. Now, we sell 425,” Stanifer said.
