MONROE — Monroe’s new, larger ALDI store opens at 9 a.m. July 25.

The newly constructed, 12,000 square foot grocery store at 1270 N. Telegraph Road sits on property of the former La-Z-Boy Inc. headquarters. The new store is approximately 20% larger than Monroe's previous ALDI location at 1850 N. Telegraph Road. The old location permanently closed Tuesday.

ALDI has been in Monroe since 2007, according to Monroe News archives. ALDI sells a full line of grocery items; 90% of its items are exclusive brands.

"We have served the Monroe community for more than 17 years and are excited to continue offering residents an affordable way of shopping," said Ryan Fritsch, Webberville Division vice president for ALDI.
