A Butler County woman has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after she was involved in a car crash that killed a motorcyclist.

Olga Gomez, 53, of Franklin, was driving without a valid driver's license in Monroe on June 17 when she turned in front of a motorcyclist traveling the opposite direction, according to a criminal complaint filed in a Butler County area court. The motorcyclist, 30-year-old Ronald Jordan Imhoff, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gomez was driving eastbound on Ohio 63 as she tried to make a left turn into a Kroger Fulfillment Center, court records say. She failed to yield to Imhoff, who was driving westbound and struck the passenger side of Gomez's car.

The complaint was filed Tuesday in Butler County Court 2, which handles misdemeanor and traffic cases in Fairfield Township, Liberty Township and the city of Monroe.

Vehicular manslaughter is a misdemeanor imposed for causing someone's death by committing a minor misdemeanor traffic violation, according to Ohio state law .

Gomez is set to appear in court on Aug. 7 for an arraignment, according to court records.
