Utah Fire Info first announced the wildfire around 4 p.m. Friday, July 5, saying it had burned between 30 and 50 acres at the time and was burning in heavy timber. The fire has greatly expanded in the hours since.

The announcement said several historic mining structures in the Old Kimberly Mining District were threatened by the wildfire.
