Semi Tips Over In Richfield
Just before 9:30 a.m. July 27, a semi truck hauling a large, 77,000 lb., lithium battery tipped over while making a left turn into Flying J in Richfield. According to a post to the Richfield City Police Facebook page, “due to the extreme fire hazard, the immediate area was blocked off until it could be uprighted and moved off the roadway.” It took about four and a half hours to remove the battery and Main Street reopened around 2:00 p.m. Flying J Dr. was partially closed until a trailer could be brought in to haul the batter out.
Swaner EcoCenter offers mindfulness workshop and more
A four-part mindfulness workshop is one of several upcoming events happening at Park City’s Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter. The 1,200-acre nature preserve and education center offers a number of hands-on programs year-round. Every Monday in August, a group will gather to learn and practice mindfulness in the serene setting at Swaner. Led by long-time mindfulness teacher and practitioner Rebecca Brenner, the workshop will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 – 26. The cost is $100 for the series.
2 men hurt in motorcycle crash in central Utah
SCIPIO, Millard County — Two men were transported to the hospital by helicopter Sunday after the motorcycle they were riding crashed on Interstate 15 in central Utah. According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on the northbound lanes of I-15 at milepost 200, roughly 10 miles north of Scipio.
