Mavericks Basketball Coach Sauvage Resigns

LINDSIDE- In a somewhat shocking move to many, James Monroe basketball coach Matt Sauvage resigned from his position as the leader of the boys’ team. Sauvage won two state titles with the Mavs in 2022-23.

“Yes sir. It was a very hard decision, but someone once told me that I would know when it’s time. It’s time. Blessed by the years I did it though!!! “Still doing volleyball this year but hanging up basketball,” Sauvage said. Sauvage is one of the more respected coaches in not just the area, but the state as well and it is great to know he will still roam the sideline for the Greenbrier East Spartan volleyball team.
