'I’m just devastated': Wind storms causes tree to fall into Central Point home
CENTRAL POINT, Ore. – Wendy Lapointe’s home is destroyed after wind storms caused a tree to fall into her home, leading to the roof caving in. Monday evening, Lapointe said she and her partner were watching television when they started hearing loud gusts of wind outside. Within minutes, the tree fell into her home.
New Donomore Fire sparks near Oregon-California border
SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. – The Donomore Fire was one of multiple fire starts caused by lightning strikes on the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest over the last two days. As of Wednesday morning, the Donomore Fire had burned through 45 acres on the Siskiyou Mountains Ranger District near the Oregon-California border.

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced the following appointments:. Melany Acosta-Parra, of Kerman, has been appointed to the California Youth Empowerment Commission. Acosta-Parra has been a Recreation Leader for the City of Kerman Parks and Recreation Department since 2021. She served on the Kerman Youth Commission from 2021 to 2024. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Acosta-Parra is a Democrat.
