What a smart creature. Hard to believe that a wild animal can outsmart people, then again it does happen a lot, especially in Montana. Montana is home to a ton of wildlife, places like Yellowstone have pristine habitat for all sorts of animals to thrive, while neighboring properties often have plenty of farm land which can be great habitat for many animals too. Elk are a mainstay in Montana and one of the creatures that folks flock to the area to get the chance to see. They are massive, the second largest member of the deer family, that can reach up to 1,000 pounds. They have a healthy population in Montana and can be found literally everywhere from the mountains to the prairies. For a wild animal, coming near humans means dealing with things that don’t happen in the wild. Whether it’s a road, a house, a car or fence, these are all things most wildlife don’t see. Elk are well equipped to adapt to the ever-changing world. This elk clearly has been around the block when it comes to farmland. The elk is seen moving to the side of a cattle guard and careful stepping his way to the other side just like a pro. Not his first rodeo? https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=10155393036366834&t=0
