Two Honored for Preserving Montana History
The Montana Historical Society has bestowed Heritage Awards to two Montanans for their dedicated work in finding and saving our state history. Ellen Crain has worked in the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives for over 32 years. In that time she helped expand the Butte National Historic Landmark District with the wonderful period buildings. To maintain the Archives, Crain spearheaded a capital campaign to raise $7.5 million to remodel and expand their building. Co-Author of three books, she serves on the boards of the State Historical Records Committee and the Humanities Montana.
Montana’s AG Reminds Montanans Of Fentanyl Dangers
Montana's Attorney General, Austin Knudsen, shared a statement today reminding and warning Montanans about the dangers of fentanyl:. While the data proves that our drug task forces are doing a great job getting fentanyl off the street, they can’t catch it all. Too much of the dangerous drug is making its way across the southern border into our communities and it’s killing Montanans. It keeps me up at night knowing parents are losing their kids and young children are left to be raised by their grandparents or other family members.
Cherries on the Flathead: Orchard Listed for $1.35 Million
Cherry blossoms are popping in the Flathead Valley. Huckleberries became Montana's state fruit in 2023 when Governor Greg Gianforte signed HB 880 into law, a bill crafted with help by 4th graders at Vaughn Elementary. And while huckleberries are delicious, another fruit gets plenty of attention in Montana... fresh Flathead cherries.
Montana’s Fearless Plow Crews Make Progress on Beartooth Pass
Snow plow crews are on track for the seasonal opening of Beartooth Pass. Montanans love to take friends or relatives from flatland states over Beartooth Pass, mainly to watch them squirm in terror. The narrow, winding road is one of the most stunning drives in Montana, but it can make some travelers uncomfortable.
Is this the moment that Tim Montana has been waiting for?
You certainly cannot say that Tim Montana has not worked hard over the course of his career. I got to know Tim back when he was pushing his first single, "Butte, America" way back in 2007 and he was working hard then as he came to our radio stations personally and convinced us to give the song a few spins on the local airwaves. He had recently returned from school in California where he had studied under the legendary Johnny Hiland, which while impressive, was just the tip of the iceberg.
These Country Hits From 1994 are 30 Years Old Now
Wow, 1994 was quite a year. We saw Michael Jackson marry Lisa Marie Presley, the OJ Simpson Bronco chase, Amazon was founded and Major League Baseball canceled the World Series because of a player strike. But what about country music that year? It was a doozy packed with massive names...

Wash Post: Donald Trump Compares Tester to a Pregnant Woman
Politico was complaining in their "Playbook" Tuesday morning that President Trump delivered some "insensitive comments about Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) at a fundraiser in Palm Beach, 'comparing the Democrat's appearance to that of a pregnant woman." Here's the really cool part about that story, which was first reported by The...
Put Down the Phone, See the Real World
Put it down because you don't know what you're missing. As you know, you can't find any news on TV anymore. Saturday morning while having coffee, I'm trying to find something besides making the best mint julip. I happened to come across something on travel, and it was about an Arctic cruise. The scenery was out of this world, and the experience of getting to see parts of the world that most people will never get to see would be exhilarating.
NSFW: Montana’s Suga Sean O’Malley Roasted At Roast Of Tom Brady
I was sitting at home last night looking for something to watch. After opening up Netflix, I saw "The Roast of Tom Brady," and decided to watch it. Growing up, I used to watch those Comedy Central Roasts of Justin Bieber, Bob Saget, Charlie Sheen, Martha Stewart and others. It was raunchy, creative offensive humor.

Dangerous travel conditions exist in many parts of Montana through Tuesday evening. Places like Forsyth and...
Montana Grocery Comparison, Part 2: the Local Level
A very nice lady from Billings, Sandy, responded to my article on grocery prices between Billings and Bozeman:. "I read the post doing the price comparisons from Walmart... I did not realize Walmart pricing was the same in different parts of the state. Now, for the reason for this comment. If you don't shop local, your downtowns will die out. If you shop big box stores, your money goes to their corporate office; it doesn't stay here in Montana. Wouldn't it be better to shop local and keep the money here? I get it, the big box store has cheaper prices. But I've lived in other places where the downtowns died because of the big box stores moved in, and it wasn't pretty."
Missoula County Attorney Says Shoplifting Numbers are Exploding
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - Missoula County Attorney Matt Jennings shares the weekly crime report every Friday on Talk Back, and he recently emphasized the growing problem of petty theft and shoplifting plaguing Missoula businesses. “Small-level property crimes have really skyrocketed in Missoula over the last few years,” began Jennings....
What Montana Teachers Really Want For End Of Season Gifts
Like that old 80s hairband sang, "It's the final countdown!" to the end of the school year for Montana students. Undoubtedly, many teachers look forward to the break as much as students. Teaching is a challenging job and if you doubt my statement, spend some time shadowing a teacher and...
