Construction for Traffic Lights at Watchung Plaza Begins
The intersection at Watchung Plaza, often called the most dangerous intersection in Montclair, is on its way to becoming safer. Construction workers were laying the electrical wires for the traffic lights on Wednesday. In April, the Essex County Board of County Commissioners approved the installation of two traffic signals. One will be at the intersection of Watchung Avenue and Park Street; the other at Watchung Plaza. There will also be roadway improvements to Watchung Avenue.

Montclair Approves $104 Million Budget, Pays $1 Million Settlement with Surplus Funds

The Human Needs Food Pantry has been serving the people of Montclair and Essex County for over 40 years, and now they need your help. Since this January, the pantry has registered over 700 new households for assistance, served approximately 3,000 households each month and distributed over 380,000 lbs. of food. In 2023, they spent an extraordinary $600,000 on food; this year, they’re hoping to exceed that amount.
