    Montclair Police: Victim Repeatedly Punched in Face After Refusing to Give Money

    MONTCLAIR, NJ - On Tuesday, a man was assaulted and robbed in Montclair, according to Montclair Police officials. The incident occurred on Claremont Avenue and resulted in the victim sustaining multiple injuries.

    The Montclair Police Department said, "The victim reported that he was walking west on Claremont Avenue when he was approached by a male requesting money. The victim refused to provide the suspect with any money. The suspect then struck the victim several times in the face and head."

    As a result, the victim suffered lacerations to his head and face. He was treated by Montclair EMS and transported to Mountainside Hospital for further care.

    The suspect was described as wearing a red shirt and black pants at the time of the assault.
