Competition Times for Alexandria, Virginia’s Olympians
ALEXANDRIA, VA – T.C. Williams High School (now Alexandria City High School) alum Noah Lyles will compete in the 100-meter preliminaries on August 3 at 5:45 am ET on NBC, Peacock, and NBCOlympics.com. The semifinals will take place on Sunday, August 4, at 2 pm ET on the same networks, and the 100-meter finals will take place at 3:50 on August 4. He will compete in the 200-meter preliminaries on Monday, August 5, at 1:55 pm, the semis on Wednesday, August 7, at 2:02 pm, and the final on Thursday, August 8, at 2:30 p.m. on the same networks.
Swim and dive seasons end with individual all-star meets
Individual swimming and diving all-star meets in the Northern Virginia Swimming League are being held this weekend. The swimming event is today, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Pinecrest Swim and Tennis Club in Herndon. The diving is Sunday starting at 8 a.m. at Hunt Valley pool in Springfield. The competitions last all day, with participants competing from the age groups of 8-under up to 15-to-18.

Beautiful New Mural at Lake Anne Elementary School
This new, captivating art piece titled Water and Warmth features aquatic creatures, woodland animals, mandalas, and children. Mural Masters, Inc artists, Shawn James and Charles Lawrance worked over a few weeks and completed the artwork at the end of June. On July 24 around 7:32 a.m., APD was called to a construction site in the 5700 block of Duke Street for a report of an injured person.

WASHINGTON - The Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate two separate early morning shootings that left one man dead. 4th Street Northwest, D.C. According to police, a man was found shot in the area of 4th Street Northwest and N Street. Police say the victim has since been pronounced dead.
