Wisconsin man tased after pointing gun at deputy, given $50,000 cash bond
NEW CHESTER, Wis. (WFRV) – A 66-year-old Wisconsin man was tased after allegedly drawing a handgun and pointing it at a deputy on Friday night. According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, on June 7, shortly before 4:45 p.m., deputies received a complaint in the 300 block of County Highway A in the town of New Chester.

Ripon swears in two new police officers
Two new police officers were sworn in last week Thursday at City Hall, with one officer heading directly into patrolling and a second officer bound for the Police Academy. The two officers, Danielle LaLuzerne and Cole Burdick, were surrounded by family and friends as they swore their oath of office, administered by City Administrator Adam Sonntag, with Ripon Police Chief Bill Wallner standing by.

Baraboo Residents Look To Oust School Board President
Some residents in Baraboo are looking to remove the president of the school district’s Board of Education for what they believe to be a mishandling of resources. The ‘Recall Vodak Committee’ was formed in May, aiming to remove current Board of Education president Kevin Vodak from his position. The committee says reasons for the recall include mismanagement of taxpayer dollars, issues with teacher and staff retention and unethical conflicts of interests. Speaking to members of the committee, they say the concerns stem from care of the students. Other issues raised by the group listed include disagreements over superintendent pay and district office staffing.
