Knoxville Community School District Welcomes Students Back on Monday
The Knoxville Community School district will welcome students back to the classroom on Monday. School starts at 7:55 this morning and for the first two days school will dismiss at 1:25 pm for all students K-12. This year, the district is welcoming in twelve new teachers and one new principal. The district also has brand new playground equipment at West Elementary that was installed over the summer and the Randy Wilson Track Improvement Project is complete. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says she loves the energy of the first day of school.

Emerson Axsom won his first career 410 feature at Knoxvillle, while Austin McCarl won his third track championship with the series. Aaron Reutzel won his sixth 360 feature of the year Saturday, while Jamie Ball claimed his first season title. Ryan Navratil won for the second time in a row with the Pro Sprints, while Mike Mayberry claimed his second track championship in a row by just ten points.

ISU Mourns Loss of Hall of Famer Mike Stensrud
Iowa State University mourns the passing of Mike Stensrud, a Hall of Fame defensive player, who died at the age of 68. Stensrud was pivotal in transforming the Cyclones’ football program during his tenure from 1974-78, helping the team secure bowl invitations in both 1977 and 1978. Renowned for his imposing presence on the field, Stensrud recorded 306 tackles and led the Big Eight in sacks during his junior year.
