Mental wellness group marches Downtown Mall
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A mental health and fentanyl poisoning awareness group took to Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall on July 20. Powhatan-based VIRGINIA Take a Walk With Us set up a tent on the East end of the mall and marched to the West end and back to spread the word. The non-profit group aims to improve community wellness by connecting people with mental health resources and promoting awareness of fentanyl poisoning.
Richmond: Contractors, manager named in new baseball stadium project
The new $110 million home of the Richmond Flying Squirrels and VCU Baseball is a big step closer to coming to fruition. The city has selected Providence, R.I.,-based Gilbane Building Co. and North Chesterfield-based Prestige Construction Group to lead the construction of the new 10,000-seat stadium, which is slated to open in 2026.

Treatable Liver Condition May Be Misdiagnosed As Dementia
Symptoms that are sometimes diagnosed as part of dementia might actually be related to a treatable liver condition, according to a recent study. Up to 13% of patients believed to have dementia are likely to have advanced liver disease instead, according to researchers at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCU Health) and the Richmond VA Medical Center.
