Two men suffered what authorities describe as non-life threatening injuries in a Sunday afternoon shooting at a Montgomery park.

At about 4:30 p.m., police and fire medics went to the 5800 block of Hyde Park Drive on a report of a person shot, said Montgomery Police Department Capt. Raymond Carson. They found a man who had a non-life threatening gunshot wound who was taken to a local hospital for treatment, he said.

MPD also responded to a local hospital on report of a second person shot, where they found a man who had a non-life threatening gunshot wound, Carson said. It was determined that the shooting happened in the 5800 block of Hyde Park Drive, he said.

A community Stop the Violence rally was held in the same park the day before the shooting.

The circumstances of the case remain under investigation, and no other information was immediately released. Police ask people with knowledge of the case to call CrimeStoppers at 334-215-STOP, the Secret Witness Line at 334-625-4000, or MPD at 334-625-2831.
