A Montgomery man died early Sunday morning from a two-vehicle accident in which one of the vehicles left the scene before police arrived.

According to a release from the Montgomery Police Department, MPD and fire medics responded at 1:30 a.m. to the collision at the 3500 block of Carter Hill Road. One vehicle, a 2014 Dodge Charger, was at the scene. The driver, identified by MPD as Jamauri Tyler, 23, of Montgomery had fatal injuries. Two unidentified passengers were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The unidentified driver of the second crash vehicle was not at the accident scene when MPD arrived, according to MPD Major Saba Coleman.

The crash investigation is ongoing. Montgomery police did not immediately release any other details about the crash.
