Here's a list of some of the Montgomery-area top performers during the AHSAA All-Star week from events played July 15-19.
Milestones
Park Crossing's Saniyah Jackson was named South MVP after leading her team in scoring during the girls basketball game.
Montgomery Academy’s Elle McBride was named South MVP in a victory during the volleyball match.
Montgomery Academy’s Sophia Cho was named as the South MVP during the girls soccer matchup.
Baseball
Trinity’s Fleming Hall scored the first run for the Southern team after hitting a double to the deepest part of the outfield. He recorded a stolen base to advance to third.
Boys basketball
Montgomery Academy’s Skyler Stovall finished with four points, a steal and a bock. Calhoun’s Tyler Robertson tallied five points with 10 rebounds.
Girls Basketball
Jackson finished with 14 points and four steals. Auburn High’s Brooke Hallman and Trinity’s Maddie Smith finished with eight points a piece.
Brewbaker Tech had two players selected for the South team in Kennedi McGhee and Jillian Baine . McGhee finished with four points and four rebounds.
Cross Country
The South girls top finisher was Auburn’s Linnea Cox , who earned South MVP with a time of 19:29.74.
Golf
The girls South team of Lauryn Leonard (Pike Road) and Evelyn Tankersley (Alabama Christian) beat the North duo consisting of Lucia Perez (Westminster Christian) and Morgan Hopper (Hewitt-Trussville), 13-5, to earn South MVP honors.
Softball
Lily Davenport of Wetumpka started the top of the third inning with a single to center field. She later scored on a North throwing error.
Tennis
Montgomery Academy’s Gabby Barrera and UMD-Wright Sarah Ladd defeated Vestavia Hills' Kenley Outzenn and Madison Standifer 6-2, 4-6 10-7.
South’s John Alford and Montgomery Beall bested Oxford’s Kyle McEwen and Ramsay‘s James Giles 6-0, 6-1.
Trinity’s James Treadwell and Houston Academy’s Jason Mund defeated Tommy Rowan, and Homewood’s Winston James 6-1, 2-6, 10-4.
Volleyball
McBride recorded a team-high 12 kills and nine digs to help her team force five sets. Setter Addi Vinson , a Montgomery Academy teammate, finished with 32 assists and six digs.
