    Woman found dead Wednesday in Montgomery, police say

    Montgomery police are conducting a death investigation following the shooting of a local woman.

    Police and fire medics went to the 200 block of Eastdale Road South about 8:35 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a person shot, said Maj. Saba Coleman, spokeswoman for the Montgomery Police Department. They found Kinah Stokes, 28, of Montgomery who had been shot. She was taken to a local hospital, where she died.

    It was the second fatal shooting, and third shooting, reported to police on Wednesday.

    A 16-year-old was killed and another 16-year-old wounded earlier in the day.

    At about 4:32 p.m., police went to a local hospital on a report of a shooting, said Coleman, They found two 16-year-old males who had been shot: one juvenile with a non-life threatening gunshot wound and one juvenile male with a life-threatening gunshot wound. The second juvenile was later pronounced dead, Coleman said.

    It was later determined that the shootings occurred in the area of Hilldale Drive, she said.

    The circumstances of these cases remain under investigation, and no other information was immediately released. Police ask people with knowledge of the case to call CrimeStoppers at 334-215-STOP, the Secret Witness Line at 334-625-4000, or MPD at 334-625-2831.
