A great friendly rivalry on the links
There was little that separated them on the golf course this past spring as North Montgomery’s Neal Jeffery and Crawfordsville’s Tanner Gilland were the two best in Montgomery County. Both had an 18-hole average of 78 as each of them had their moments. Early in the season both shot a 76 at the Covington Invite and they tied again with strong showings at the Sagamore Conference meet with 73’s. At the county meet, Gilland shot a 78 with Jeffery carding an 82, at the sectional Jeffery got the best of Gilland with a 77 with Gilland shooting an 80. In their final meeting of the season at the Regional the duo tied for the third time this season with an 89.
Black Team Wins 10u Title
The Crawfordsville Youth Baseball 10u Black team finished first place in the 10u Montgomery County Youth Baseball Championship last week at Fishero Park. Rainfall Friday-Saturday varied GREATLY. Only a trace occurred in parts of our northwestern counties, while south side of Lafayette saw near 2" in places, but West Lafayette saw much less. Meanwhile, cluster of severe storms in Montgomery County were very intense rainfall producers with +2.30" falling in a few places resulting in flash flooding, despite drier soils.
