The Seed of Life memorial honoring the victims of the Aug. 4, 2019 Oregon District shooting was unveiled on Sunday in an emotional ceremony held in Dayton. “Today I’m thankful to have a physical space to come to to share (my daughter’s) part of the story,” said LaSandra James, whose daughter, Lois Oglesby, was one of nine people who died in the shooting.
Fellow Republicans call on Clerk of Courts Mike Foley to resign following indictment
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- Republicans in Montgomery County are calling for the immediate resignation of Mike Foley, the county's Clerk of Courts. The demands come after Foley and Municipal Court Judge James Piergies were indicted Wednesday. Foley is facing felony counts of attempted unlawful interest in a public contract, aiding and abetting an unlawful interest in a public contract, unauthorized use of a computer, and theft in office, plus misdemeanor counts of soliciting political contributions from public employees and prohibition against partisan political activity.

DARKE COUNTY DUMP TRUCK DRIVER KILLED
(Montgomery County, OH)--The dump truck driver who crashed into an overpass on I-70 a few miles east of the Preble – Montgomery County line Thursday morning and was killed has been identified as a Darke County man. Investigators say 50-year-old Carson McKee of Greenville failed to lower his dump truck bed and struck the overpass of State Route 49. McKee was pronounced dead at the scene. Eastbound I-70 was completely shut down for several hours Thursday.
