Toni Lee Sharpless, a 29-year-old nursing assistant, vanished on August 23, 2009, after a night out in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania. Her disappearance remains a mystery. Born on December 27, 1979, in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, Toni faced challenges early on, losing her father at six and later being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She also struggled with substance abuse but was dedicated to her role as a single mother to her daughter, born when Toni was seventeen. Toni worked as a nursing assistant while studying at Brandywine School of Nursing and graduated from Immaculata University in 2007. She was employed in the infectious disease ward at Lancaster General Hospital at the time of her disappearance.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Zoo had to shut down operations a little early Friday afternoon due to a water main break, according to the zoo's website. The zoo, which is typically open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, wrote on Facebook Friday morning that they would have to close down for water main maintenance.Guests were encouraged to email the zoo's guest relations service at guestrelations@phillyzoo.org to reschedule their visit for another day. The Philadelphia Zoo additionally thanked guests for their understanding writing they would see visitors again soon.It's unclear at this time if the zoo will reopen Saturday.The Philadelphia Zoo -- America's first zoo -- is celebrating its 150th anniversary this summer in a way that will benefit guests' wallets with season-long ticket deals and bundles. Monday is the zoo's actual anniversary date, which will be celebrated in partnership with Wawa Welcome America festivities.

The second settlement is for $400,000 to be paid to Scott Peters and stems from a prisoner’s civil rights allegedly being violated, according to Justia.
