Hurricane Beryl left 75 percent of Montgomery County residents without power. This was a tough week for many of us. Trees fell on cars, roofs, roads and throughout the county. Gas was a premium commodity especially with the need to keep our generators working as back-up power. It seems a little crazy to tell you about upcoming events this week, but hopefully power is restored, and you will want to do something to make you laugh a little louder and make your smile a little brighter.

CenterPoint, Entergy push back power restoration completion deadlines

(Aubrey Vogel/Community Impact) Following another round of heavy thunderstorms, which moved through the Houston area on July 12, power restoration efforts by CenterPoint Energy halted slightly as Entergy announced they had restored 75% of customers following Hurricane Beryl’s landfall on July 8.

Fatal wrong-way driver crash on Eastex Freeway causes closure in Montgomery County
HOUSTON (CW39) — A wrong-way crash that killed a driver has closed the northbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway Friday morning. Around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning, Houston police responded to a head on collision on I-69 Eastex Freeway at Kingwood Drive. Montgomery County units were on the scene and witnessed the accident.
