HCC Names Assistant VP to Oversee Student Success Programs
HOLYOKE — Holyoke Community College (HCC) recently named William Reyes-Cubides as assistant vice president of Academic Affairs and Student Success. In this new position, Reyes-Cubides will serve as a bridge between both sides of the Academic and Student Affairs division to ensure that students receive the support they need to achieve academic success.

WHITINSVILLE – A Suffolk County court has ordered a received to take control of three rehabilitation facilities operated by Blupoint Healthcare in Massachusetts. Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell petitioned the court to place the facilities in the custody of a third party. KCP Advisory Group LLC of Billerica was selected as the receiver. The court named Paul Valentine, a senior managing director of the company, as the i9ndividual receiver.

AMHERST, Mass. – Massachusetts Athletics mourns the passing of longtime former Director of Athletics Bob Marcum, who passed away on Tuesday, July 23 at the age of 87. Marcum served as Director of Athletics for the University of Massachusetts from 1993-2002, overseeing a stretch of great success for the Minutemen and Minutewomen. During that decade long run, the men's basketball team won four Atlantic 10 Championships (1993-96) and earned six consecutive NCAA Tournament berths (1993-98) under head coach John Calipari.

From Westfield, historic F-15C fighter jet arrives at New England Air Museum
WINDSOR LOCKS, Connecticut — Preparing for the arrival of new F-35s, the 104th Fighter Wing donated a historic F-15C Eagle jet on Monday to the New England Air Museum. Col. Michael “Shot” Glass, operations group commander for the 104th based at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, flew the 48-year-old F-15C Eagle on its last flight, a hop from the base in Westfield to Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, where the New England Air Museum is located, a distance of just 15 air miles and across the state line.
More state troopers with ties to Karen Read case being investigated
Two more Massachusetts state troopers with ties to the case of Karen Read, a Mansfield woman accused of killing her Boston police officer boyfriend, are facing internal affairs investigations.
